Vacumn for Interior?

I haven't used a portable vac yet that works super-well. When I can I use
the built-in vacuum in my parents' house and run a long hose out from the
nearest outlet. When that is not an option I haven't found anything that
works as well as a two-quarters vacuum at a gas station.
