Crud.  You're right.  I had that bassakwards.

Methanol is most generally produced from natural gas, but also can be made
from bio-mass.

Ethanol is corn squeeze.

That said, when the dinosaurs are gone, someone will figure out another
fuel supply whether methanol, ethanol, Mr. Fusion Home Reactor, or whatever.
