Dash lights and tail lights

It can happen yet another (different) way.  MY dash lights don't work, I used
to be able to get them to come on by wiggling the dimmer dial, but now they
won't work at all, but my tail lights DO work.

I'm assuming it's a corroded / broken dimmer switch in my case...
