There is no recommended interval, the timing chain is good for the life
of the engine. A Nissan tech was once asked, what's the life of the
engine, the answer was, when the timing chain breaks. ;)
If your chain ever does go, you'll have a fair bit of damage, but in
all my years on the list (7+) I think I've only heard of about 4 cases
of the chain breaking, so the odds are fairly unlikely.
Many of our cars have gone 100K easily, some folks (like myself) have
gone past 200K. Ray Kawski has (had?) a '91 NX with about 340K miles
on it. You still have that beast, Ray?
