I heartily agree with this. I don't log onto the forums at all, and
have only browsed through them once. If the list were gone, I would be
too.
This list is the glue that binds our community together. Yes there's
some noise from time to time, but that's to be expected. People ask a
question here, and they generally get answers pretty quickly. There
are still a lot of great folks here that read and respond, lots of
folks with different areas of expertise, and that's what really makes
this list great.
It's been said by many folks that this is one of the best car lists
around, and it's because of the people. We've got a good thing going,
I'm hoping it keeps on going for a good while longer.
p.s.
Probably my biggest gripe (and no offense intended to anyone here) is
the common mantra 'go check the archives'. Sheesh, nothing like
pulling up a few thousand hits on a search no matter how many key terms
you throw at it. I hate to complain since I don't have the time to
contribute to a solution, but it would be great if the Web FAQs were
expanded a bit more to include more content. Maybe those folks that
throw out answers 'so it'll be in the archives' would instead put
something together suitable for posting on the web and that the right
folks can make sure these things get updated in a timely manner.
