my steering issue - still f**ed, maybe - anyone got that pipe? more help needed

Well, my dad and I have been trying to braze the line back onto the banjo
fitting, but we just cannot get the brazing rod (copper) to stick to the
fitting. Sticks to the pipe fine, but not to the fitting at all. What are we
doing wrong? I'm using a MAPP/Oxygen torch - I could cut steel plate with it
if I wanted to, plenty of heat capability.

Obviously I'm not going to the mountains tomorrow :)

Does anyone who has removed their power steering have this line laying around?
It is the small hard line that goes from the right strut tower down to the
rack somewhere. I have a feeling I will not be able to save the one I've got -
not at the rate we're going with the brazing, anyway. Maybe we just suck?
