Have you priced Toyota OEM parts?  They were really cheap back in my Toy'o
days.  Rear shocks for my Soupie were like only $18.

As for aftermarket:
*  Monroe sucks!  Generally not worth the labor to install.  They wear out
overnight, often to worse condition then those they replaced.
*  Tokico - generally good from what I've heard;  but as you correctly
noted, the ones they make for our Nissans wear out in no time!
*  KYB - generally good, and inexpensive.  I have AGXes on my SE-R but
never got that many miles on them before crunching it up  :(  Their base
model non-adjustable struts for B13s are less then $50.   I've heard some
Euro car owners claim the name is an acronym for "Keep Your Bilsteins"
