They're expensive because you have to pay JWT extra for the hassle of
dealing with them, and they don't even flow as well as the Z32 unit (which
JWT is also quite familliar with. F-Max made them popular, I suppose,
and JWT allowed the madness to continue because they make another $150
per unit. ;)
As for per-unit cost of the Z32 vs. Cobra MAF sensor, I don't know.
Car-Parts.com can help you find used ones, or you can go with new parts,
or you can try and buy one from one of the guys at TwinTurbo.net since
many of them are only using one sensor anyway. The Cobra sensor just
doesn't make sense once you've evaluated the options.
If you need even MORE power, you could also use a Q45 sensor, which
flows even more, doesn't need the subtractor program either, and is
still keeping your engine all-Nissan. ;)
