Is this a factory OEM replacement?... if so, all he has done was remove the
lower half of the airbox and run an open element...
If he has, all he's doing is sucking hot engine air. That could attribute
to the 3hp loss.
Doesn't the stock intake have some routing to put the intakes close or near
the front of the car?.
I don't really recall as I tore mine out many years ago :)
