Darn Hatchback Strut Balls

I was replacing the hatchback struts on my 91' NX2000 with ones from a 92'
at the junkyard, and the balls that fit into the struts broke off - so now I
have a completely non-functional hatchback! does anyone have an NX that I
can get the struts off of or some extra ones? will ones from another car fit
it? the dealer wants too much and I think they won't come with the balls.
help!
