Motor Mounts

Come on George, if you were sitting in my car, I wouldn't have to ask all
these beginner questions.
My goal is to do everything right and everything slow, plus research the poo
out of it.

One hour of "gear head"/"garage rat" labor =
ten hours of Hlava labor.

I'll eventually get it done, but if you're right about NAPA, I'm probably
going to have to order everything for the mounts. Sears said they could do
it for me(I can hear Jinny start to scream now), but the most I'd trust them
to do is fix a flat tire. Hopefully, I can find the shifter bushings
locally. Will definitely change out the tranny fluid. Don't like bad smells,
but I read that the Motul was a bit thicker and provided a bit more
protection/cushioning for the gears. If that's not true, I'll go for the
Redline. Will also go the Redline water wetter route.

Seems like this motor mount project won't get done by this weekend...
crapola! I really wanted to drive the car to work on Monday to show
everybody my new baby(Jinny). Oh well, at least I'll get the other stuff
done. $99 for the jack/jack stands? Maybe if I wait for a sale... nah.
That'd just be $20 that I'd end up spending on beer anyway. The jack at
Sears has the one touch rise. I think I'll go for the 3 ton... just in case
you show up.

What do you think of a combo of using JWT for some of the mounts and the ES
inserts for the others? If this doesn't sound too ridiculous, which would I
use for which mounts? I'm guessing that the higher torque requirements would
use the JWT... and everybody keeps calling the different mounts by different
names....aaaargh! I need a friggin shop manual.

Too effin bad they're aren't any decent places around the Tampa Bay area for
SE-R parts... unless you're into ghetto upgrades... I'm not.

"Yes ma'am, that is a torque wrench in my pocket. Yes ma'am it is the big
one, but it only fits on tiny nuts."

Thanks,
Mark
