Thanks for remember that and posting this information.
Just as an update, I haven't tried covering the window with anything yet, but
I've used scrapers, solvents (lots of different ones), and you name it. The
only thing that has been successful for me so far is a heat gun. That of
course could lead to screwing up the defrogger wires. I've put that off for a
bit, so I'll give this trick a try.
