Yup, when you install the new filter, use a little silicone dielectric grease
around the fittings on the filter. Don't use too much - you don't want the
grease in the fuel line - just enough for a thin film. This grease doesn't wear
off and, assuming you change your filter every 20-40k miles, should make things
a lot easier the next time.
