Because that would take all of the fun out, wouldn't it?  If the OEMs
stopped using inexpensive, easy to service plastic intake tracts and
used metal tubes with mandrel bends, what would Injen do?  If they
stopped using close-coupled cats (which they wouldn't) and started
welding exhaust manifolds instead of casting them, what would Hedman do?

To address another aspect of your question, look at NISMO, Mugen, GMPP,
Mopar, and even *Saturn* is now selling hi-po parts from the parts
counter at your local stealership.
