Rusty A-pillar Questions

Hi All,
Both of my '93 SE-Rs have rust in the A-pillars between the hinges.
I know this is a common problem on these cars -- at least here in the
rust belt. I've taken to saturating the foam "sponge" in the pillar
with fogging oil several times a year, and it has slowed the progress
of the rust, but I'll lose the battle eventually. We had to have
the driver's side repaired a couple of years ago on the car my wife
drives (for about $900), and the passenger side is now in need of repair
as well. For a variety of reasons, I'm shopping around for a P10 G20
to replace her tired and rusty car. Questions for the wise and
knowledgeable folks on the list:
1) Do the early G20's have the same pillar rust problems that
the classic SE-R's do?
2) If the answer to #1 is "yes", is this only a problem in the
rust belt, or does it happen everywhere?
I get out to the NW to visit family on a regular basis, and had
intended to shop out there for a G20. But I know there's been speculation
that the rust is due to some drainage issue through the pillar, and feared
that pillars may still be rusty in the NW what with all the rain...
Thanks,
Brad
P.S. If anybody in WA or OR has a '93-'96 G20 for sale, give me a
holler. I'd prefer something needing engine work and/or with high
mileage.
