Rolling ends of intercooler pipe ?'s

Hi all...i'm wondering how much of a problem i'm going to have with a
section(s) of pipe in my intercooler system that doesn't have a rolled edge
that's connected with silcone hose?
I've read that you can weld on beads around the edge of the pipe and smooth
them out.  Anyone recommend this?!  How about putting something like glue in
there to hold it tighter?  Be a real bitch to get it off but....
