Well, it has 3 cam profiles on each cam but one is
agressive the other 2 are not. The inner one is the agressive
lobe. When on the low rpm lobes the rockers are alomst slit in
half so one half pushes on valve the other half pushes the other
half. When the ECU kicks into the agressive lobe it locks the
halfs together and follows the agressive lobe.
The 3 phases of the VVL are because instead of switching to
agressive lobes on both Intake and Exhaust at the same time
they are brought on seperately. So wimpy cams, Intake or Exhaust
switched to Agressive (not sure which is first), then Exhaust
or Intake whicher was still on wimpy cams is switched.
