Motor Manufacture Date

Sorry to post this, but I couldn't get the correct key words used or
something when searching.  I need to find out when my motor was
manufactured.  I am buying new plug wires, and the dealer needs to know the
manufacture date - is there really a difference in the years?  I can't use
my car's date b/c I have a JDM swap.  I found a couple diff't sets of
numbers on the block, but I would rather ask you guys for verification.
