Motor mounts

Thanks to all who responded to my question about my passenger side motor
mount swap. I did it today. As always, it took me three times as long to
complete as the slowest estimate. It would have been quicker but for the
fact that the three mount to engine bolts had been installed with loctite
red and I stripped two sockets and twice that many knuckles breaking them
loose. For anyone who has this to do, I would recommend having a breaker bar
on hand (I didn't). Installing the new mount made it clear why it is also
worth having a second jack on hand to provide enough motor movement to match
up the bolt holes. I ended up using the lug nut wrench to lever them
together.
That said, it seems to have worked. The grinding noise has not re-appeared
(Kudos to Geo. Roffe.) and that is not all. The car just feels smoother. You
can no longer tell the engine is on while it is idling at rest and throttle
response seems smoother too. All very satisfying.
Finally, can anyone tell me what 40 ft pounds of torque translates to? I
don't have a torque wrench and just tightened all the bolts as hard as I
could.
