Propane injection kit?

now, i know i don't have the knowledge of most of the people on this list, (i
hope to have A LOT more someday) but in my small monkey brain, i am thinking
that the propane is doing 2 things. first, if its directly being injected
into the intake manifold it would be cooling the intake charge, and also be
adding to the explosive properties of the fuel mixture. but, is the problem
that there isn't enough air in the gas/propane/air mixture in the combustion
chamber to allow a proper detonation? im just trying to figure this out. if
that is true, then i can see why there would be a need for more oxygen, but
couldn't that mean that one could just "tone down" the amount of propane
(like changing jets on a nitrous injector)? or maybe even using both nitrous
AND propane? (in theory of course... :-) )
