copied, just got tested.  Turns out it's made from either 1018 or 1020,
rather than Shockteks claim of 4130.  Chrome plated, hardness was 18 Rc.

All that, I am told, means the shafts are nothing more than chrome-plated
mildsteel.

Were Shockteks claims true, the shaft "should be around 40-55 Rc, depending
on the exact heat treatment".>>"
