Ballistic Oil Filter and my engine

Well I gave the SE-R to my brother to drive since I had my Maxima and the
Audi to drive and the SE-R was just sitting there most of the time..he went
to the Nissan dealer to get the filter as I taught him. He changed the oil
at my shop and drove off...changed the filter the next day. He was driving
50MPH and saw a cloud of smoke behind him after he took off from the
light...seconds later from under the hood..and then the oil light came
on...engine started to slow down and shut off. My brother knowing what to do
coasted to the side and looked at the filter which was now just laying there
on the power steering hoses..engine wouldn't even crank over after this. It
seized up. I am going to rebuild it and have it runing in a jiffy and some.
