symptoms of a skipped timing chain

i dont know, but what i have noticed, (which has not happened before), is
that when i accelerate, and i hit the gas (not to the phone, but in a way
accelerate, the rpms go up, while the car accelerates slow... pretty soon, i
figured that if i press very gently, 'catch' the rpms, and then slowly apply
pressure, then it rockets... i know that this did not take place before, i
used to be able to hit the gas and race, now theres a 2-3 sec delay, rpms go
up, then the engine catches up, and then i speed...
dont know if this will help you, maybe someone can solve this problem...
i have a 92 se-r with about 115k on it, no major mods (just lowered
suspension and rims) and thats about it > not really performance mods, just
to make it look sharper...
