Change Main Bearings?

SR20 Brothers,

I'm in the middle of the infamous rod bearing swap and
after pulling the 1-4 main bearing caps for inspection
I'm thinking of changing the main (crank) bearings too.

Is it possible to change out the main bearings without
removing the crankshaft?  I'm thinking just push the top
ones on through and slipping new ones in.

I don't even know if this is feasible since the #5 bearing
cap doesn't look like it has room to come out w/out pulling
the crankshaft.
