Oil Mixing With Gas

Hey guys my mechanic told me today that somehow my gas is mnixing with my
gas, and is not sure where this is coming from he mentioned something about
it being the fuel pump, but prior to this i know that my oil was about an
inch over the oil fill line, could this be a problem? also he said even if i
changed ot the oil it would still happen and could potentionally catch on
fire! Please reply if you have any ideas, i need my car before i go back to
school!
