for sale.
Do you a have a phone number where you can be reached? I'm in Columbia, SC.

Hi,

FYI, the SE-R mailing list will be taken down this weekend. Hopefully
I'll have it online again by Monday. We're retiring the host it is on,
I need to migrate stuff.

Well, it turns out it may have been simpler to migrate than I
expected. The list is up on a new host now and appears to be working
OK. Please let me know if anybody encounters any problems.

While migrating, I got some current membership counts:

118 regular members
180 digest members
-----
298 old farts left

I also noticed that www.se-r.net has been broken for a while. I've
fixed that, so at least the page renders.

And while I'm posting, anybody left near Durham NC?

Hi,

So in the recent migration, I fixed SE-R.net to be live again.
However, Mike Mager apparently started getting emails about it again,
and I poked around and found lots of email addresses and such there.
So I've changed it to the "maintenance" page for now.

I'm wondering what to do with that site and domain. Do you guys think
there is value in leaving it up? Nobody seems to have noticed it was
offline for perhaps a year. :-) I'd thought there may be valuable data
there still, so wanted to leave it just in case. I could attempt to
scrub email addresses from the pages and put it back up if there is
interest.

Is there anybody left who would perhaps have a use for SE-R.net,
beyond just hosting the ancient content there now?

Larry

Hi Lawrence,

myself, I'd like to see the site up and running, perhaps even updated with
current info, along with the ancient stuff, for old times sake. :)

I'd like to see that as well, but I sure as heck am not going to
manage it. I was leaving it up as a resource, but would be very happy
if somebody was interested in and capable of maintaining it and
updating it. What I don't want to do is leave it as a zombie site with
ancient contact data for people, so if I do put it back up again, I'll
have to try to first scrub it of that.

I would like to see it up again. I thought is was offline since form way
back when everything was going to forums. I searched for it again about 9
months back and found nadda so went to the forums to find info on "the old
fixes" for my son's car (MAF grounding, ignition timing procedure, etc, all
of which were not just copied over from SE-R.net so are ba$tardized
version and less than straight forward and clear.... so yes, scrubbed and back
up and running would be great, even if slightly zombie....

I was wondering how many people were left on the list, too. Interesting
to see.

I was confused to see SE-R.net vanish in the last year with no eulogy or
farewell. Before that for a few years all the pages I suspect were
database driven, like the various "registries" have been out of service,
which I thought was kinda good.

Now it's all back up in full force, and kinda wish it was not; or that I
could delete my personal info.

Wayne - He said he was going to flush the contact information I believe. I

Erik - Not sure why you say the How-To's are bad on the forums. Most
things out there are pretty good. I think they need approval to post in
that How-To section as well.

I don't think any of the "older guys" who would be more likely to look at
se-r.net (myself included) and resist looking at the forums have the time
to dedicate to truly wipe the site and flush everything out. While it would
be nice to have it back up and running, the small number of people who
would use it over the forum and the amount of time someone would have to
dedicate wouldn't make it worth it. Just my 0.0015 pesos
