Ha, that's funny. I just (yesterday) cracked open one of my
transmissions. It appears to have the original pop-out prone 5th gear,
but also appears to be unworn. I happen to have another complete input
shaft with the new 5th gear on it already, I think I'll swap them
"while I'm in there."

Ben, I took a look at that forum thread, nice job. I still love those
black and white photos, good old Kodak film. :-)
