That's entirely attributed to the restrictive downpipe and the
draconian engine management/boost control scheme of the stock setup.
It doesn't take much effort (but a good bit of money) to turn the car
into something far more pleasurable to drive around town.

Definitely nowhere near as tossable as the B13 SE-R.  It takes a few
suspension mods to make the steering more responsive and the car less
likely to understeer, but then you're left driving a car whose limits
are WAY higher than the stock B13 (or stock WRX, for that matter),
which means things can get serious rather quickly if you're not
mindful of what you're doing.

Still, I agree with everyone else's sentiments -- I've yet to find
anything with the balance of price/performance the B13 SE-R had.  All
fall short in one way or another.
