NX2000 Exhaust

Greg,

I have a 3" VRS on my turbo NX and am very happy with it. I bought the
pre-assembled system with a resonator and a Magnaflow muffler, and
installation was a total breeze. I get an occasional knock from the
muffler pipe onto my Progress rear bar, but haven't looked into why it's
happening. Their default Magnaflow is an oval shape, and has a 4" tip,
which is larger than I would have liked. Maybe they can provide
something different.

This is for your VE, correct? Just a few observation points. The low cam
on the VE really quiets things down a large amount. When I had a 2.5"
system on my DE with S4's I always ran a cat, and it wasn't too bad. I
swapped in a test pipe for giggles, and the resulting racket sounded
like a dozen angry rotary engines whenever I so much as tipped into the
throttle. Fast forward a few years to the VE (with the stock cams and
later 1.6ve cams), running an AEBS header into a 3" exhaust with
resonator, muffler and test pipe. As long as I stayed on the low cam, it
was very livable. Once the big lobes kicked in it was another story
:very big grin:, but at least I could control it by short shifting and
staying under the switchover point.

On the SE-R vs NX exhaust, the NX is shorter from the control arms back,
and an SE-R rear section won't fit properly.

You may also want to contact John Malpetsa to have something custom built.
He's an old school SR20 owner, his shop is in CT and he's built numerous B13
exhausts.
