It's time for forced induction. (Continued)

I've pretty much decided I'll go with a DET from JGY customs. I've been
thinking about what to do for an ECU for a bit now, and I think I've
settled on the VEMS.

http://www.vems.hu/

It's similar to MegaSquirt (an open source engine control management
system), and is a complete, stand-alone, DIY engine management system,
costing about $700. I'll be converting from a MAF to a MAP, adding a
wide-band O2 sensor, etc.

Does anyone else have any thoughts? Is anyone else familiar with engine
management, who might be able to help me if I run into a snag? Am I
crazy not buying a JWT ECU?

I plan on getting the ECU and first making it work with my stock DE
engine, allowing me to make sure I know what I'm doing, before I drop in
the turbo motor. This way, the car will be off the road for the least
amount of time, and I'll only have to deal with one new thing at a time.

Oh, I got the idea from the BMW e30 message boards. A friend of mine
just bought one, and he'll be going turbo soon, and he'll probably be
using one of these as well. That's a bonus, as I'll hopefully be able to
pave the way on that front.
