And the truth is, $2.79 is no longer "high" unless you mean relative to
less heavily taxed/regulated areas. That was a decent price here before
Katrina. With the pressures on prices due to growth in Asia, it has
nowhere to go but up unless we find a huge secret supply of easily
accessible oil. Driving in Chicago last night, the prices I saw ranged
from $3.19 to $3.49 for regular. Saw one for $3.09 but I think that was
with car wash.
