ABS axles on Non-ABS??? ('95 200SX ser)

I posted earlier about installing a driver side axle on a 95 200sx ser, and
how there was a 3/8" gap between the inner CV housing and transaxle seal
surface. Well, I changed the seal twice this weekend thinking that must be
the problem but it still leaks gear oil!
My question is are ABS axles compatible with non-ABS cars on the driver side?
I was under the impression they were. I just removed the ABS gear thing on
the spindle end of the axle. I got this remanned ABS axle from Oreilly to go
into the transaxle as far as it will possibly go, it stopped with a clank
sound and has 3/8" gap which some have said is normal.
The seals that I removed had no noticable damage upon inspection. If it's not
the wrong axle then are the seals just ultra-fragile??? I was very careful
installing new seals and used a 3" piece of PVC pipe cap and a rubber mallet
on the outside edges so as not to damage it. Man this is frustrating! I will
add that I removed and replaced the passenger side axle this weekend and that
seal even though not replaced has absolutely no leak, so I find it hard to
believe that it could be the seals.
