how much water??

Mark,

I just installed my new Koyo aluminum radiator today and found out the
following. If you want a 50/50 (coolant/water) mix, you'll need one gallon
of coolant and the same of distilled water. Classic manual transmission
SE-R's normally need just over 5 liters of coolant and water to fill up the
cooling system. Looks like the additional size of the Koyo radiator
increases the capacity to just above 7 liters.

Nissan's service manual states that you should flush the cooling system.
Make sure you turn off your a/c and blower prior to starting the flush. Move
the cockpit temperature selector towards the hottest setting. Open the air
relief valve just below the distributor and to the upper driver side of the
thermostat. There's another next to the passenger side of the firewall.
It's a rubber tube that caps a metal hose. Open both to allow any air to be
expelled while you fill the radiator. Be sure to fill the resevior also.
Once the coolant mix begins to flow out of the air relief ports, cap them
and continue filling the radiator until full. Cap the radiator and run the
car until the fans turn on, then race the engine 2 or 3 times and shut the
motor off. Wait until the motor cools and repeat the process if needed.
While the motor is cooling down, the coolant mix in the resevior may be
sucked back into the cooling system. Keep an eye on it and top it off so it
does not run dry.

Regarding "Water Wetter", the directions state to use 1oz for every quart.
Around 8oz of the stuff should do the trick for B13 MT SE-R's with the new
Koyo aluminum radiator.
