Tranny Grinds on Shifting into Reverse

Almost every time I shift into reverse, I go easy at first.

If it doesn't seem like it wants to go in, I double clutch,
and it slides in smooth as butter.  I *think* it's not as often
when it's cold as when it's hot.  I don't know why it's that
way, but I often just double clutch reverse out of habit now.
