Wheel bearing lock nut

I broke my breaker car removing an axle also.  The socket end broke right off, but the part with the screw stayed on the bar.

John, I would remove the entire hub, and see if a shop will hit the nut with an impact gun.  That might be your only choice at removing the parts.
