Yes, a turbo quiets the exhaust some, but that's assuming you are running
the same sized exhaust, with the same effective compression ratio. If your
exhaust gets larger (free-er flowing) or you run a higher effective
compression ratio (I assume you are, why wouldn't you?) then your exhaust is
going to get much louder. A resonator is highly recommened, but obviously,
not required.
