Drive Shaft Replacement Trouble

Thanks to everyone who offered helpful suggestions on removal and installation
of the driver's side half shaft. I am pleased to report that the old shaft is
out and the new shaft is in. With a new seal. Looks like it's going to work!

It took me quite a bit of effort to get the new shaft in because it got hung
up between the first and second gears (I guess) that it has to engage. In the
end, I braced both my legs against an old L24 block, held my elbows close to
my body and pushed with my legs while jiggling the shaft (get the video
camera, Maude!). I could tell that I was lined up correctly because the right
front wheel would turn when I turned the shaft. She finally slid in with a
satisfying clunk.

This list an an amazingly valuable resource. I sincerely appreciate all the
great advice.
