Cornerweighting F/R percentages.

All,
I'm going to go cornerweight my car in the
next week or 2, and I'm really wondering
what the precise deal is with cornerweighting
percentages. I've heard 60/40 is pretty good,
I've also heard 65/35 tossed around by at least
one person. The real question I have is, why
would you go one way or another? What's the
difference either way? Obviously, the amount
of weight on the front wheels and the rear, but
how does that affect handling? Does putting
less weight on the front wheels make the car
understeer less or more?
Thanks much.
