For the technically inclined: Continuous Variable Valve Adjustment - What do you think?

I just looked over it briefly but it looks like it can adjust valve lift
without having to change cam profiles.  Interesting idea.  It seems to me that
the future way to go is electromagnetic actuation of the valves.  Actually
already used on some semitruck diesel engines.  I remember hearing about BMW
testing the system out also and requiring the higher voltage system.
