Parking Brake Cable replacement

Anyone ever replaced the parking brake cable on a Classic?  It's busted on
my new one.  Haven't gotten too far into it, but I'm afraid it's the
junction bar thingy linking the three cables.

The FSM makes it sound like  piece of cake.  But from what I can see, it's
buried above the exhaust and heat shields.  Any input on difficulty or
shortcuts for this one?
