54mm MAF Sensor?

Simply out of curiosity, does anyone have pictures of a stock SR20VE MAF
sensor next to a 54mm bored MAF sensor?  I've seen the pictures of the
Cobra sensor in SCC, and wanted some more frame of reference.

Consequently, why don't they go all the way to 2.175" (a snitch over
55mm)?  Is there just not enough material in the housing?
