I believe he is talking about the chain guide which serves no purpose
but to make noise IMO.  It's no wonder most of the newer engines don't
have them.  Most of the time I see them I'm tempted to take them out.
But I leave them in.  Not sure when they dropped it but they stopped
putting them in after 8/97.
