This isn't true.  I removed the stock sender, and I've
been running without it for four years.  If you remove
the sender, the stock light stays off.

However, I have bought a new sender and the NISsport
adaptor, and I'll be running both the oil pressure gauge
I installed and the stock idiot light.  The more
information I have, the better!
