As you stated you can't use weight as the only factor in judging the
strength of a wheel.  A 10 pound cold forged wheel can be as strong as a 12
pound melt/hot forged wheel.  It seems the limit of a hot forged wheel is
about 12 pounds in a 15 inch wheel.  If you get a Volk, OZ or SSR, wheel
that has some cold forged or heat treatment done to it then 10 pounds for a
15 inch wheel can still result in a very strong wheel.
