Thanks, Milton. There actually is no leakage or smell, other than the first
day... I didn't catch all the gas that dripped out, some got on the
firewall.
I assiduously checked for leaks and the smell went away very quickly. I
haven't a pressure gauge to do the pressure check... maybe when we have a
local geek out someone will have one.
The filter was a PITA because I had to remove/move so much stuff in order to
have adequate "I don't want to yank on the fuel lines" room. Since the
filter had never been replaced, I suspected that the lines might be
difficult to remove... and they were. But, I didn't yank or pull on any area
but where the lines connected. Actually kept the filter in the holder so I
wouldn't be tempted to yank up or down too far.
I think it's hilarious that I was probably getting great mileage due to a
dirty filter... it figures.
A big thanks to everybody's feedback... number one reason I use this list
for my "monkey" questions.
Thanks again,
Mark
