"careful with those...
i got a set almost 2 years ago, and one of my rear lines has gone bad. the
little plastic collar that goes around the line near the banjo bolt came
loose and slowly worked its way up the brake line. the host would turn
around the part of the banjo bolt that was inserted into the line and fluid
would leak out. funny, and i thought those lines would outlast the car. i
have known of stock ones that have lasted longer! and it was $25 to get a
new replacement rubber line at the local parts store..about what each SS
line
costs. go fig.
I have heard that there is another set of SS lines out there that have a
rubber coating OVER the SS braids. they are like orange or something?
anyone know what im talking about and have a link?"
There is a group buy going on through Greg Vogel at Mossy right now. The
stainless brake lines and stainless clutch lines are being custom made by
http://www.crownperformance.com . Greg told me they can custom make them
for any application. I hope the ones I am getting don't ever leak. That is
really scary. MIAPLAYA installed the stainless clutch line himself and said
"As for the clutch line..... Very nice. Shifts feel a lot smoother. No
noticeable reduction in pedal travel but just a better overall feel to the
clutch."
I'm really excited about installing these things on my car; this will be my
first performance mod.
(Note to Mod)I'm not trying to sell people on these(Greg already met the
minimum number of people for the deal to go through), I'm just replying to
the thread about the guy with the leaking Goodridge brake line.
