You must remove the mounting bracket on the block with the alternator.

Weld a bung onto the downpipe and extend the EGR tube to the
downpipe.  When I installed the DET we were not testing for NOX and now we
are.  So, by the end of January I have to swap intake
manifolds.  Yuck.....  Unless of course someone can tell me they've passed
NOX w/o EGR, but I doubt it.
