I have yet to find a company that sells the "easy man's way" boot that
simply replaces ours.

Brian,

Go to your favorite autoparts store and buy a replacement boot.  Take your
half-shaft out of the car and on your bench vise.  Using a block of wood,
hit the end off the CV as shown in your FSM.  Thus to provide access for the
new boot.  Replace, making sure that you include the C clip.
