Harness safety in street car?

The most serious concern with harness mounting without a roll bar to locate
the shoulder straps is spinal compression, but you should also consider the
possibility of roll over while using the harness. In the unfortunate event
that you should find yourself roof racing, there will be no roll bar to
prevent the roof from getting very near your helmet. Unfortunately,
harnesses do a very good job of keeping your head above the seat (you can't
fall over to become "shorter" as the roof collapses) this means that your
helmet and neck become the roof support. This is generally a bad thing.
