Methane Injection....does it really work?

Methane has only one-quarter of gasoline's BTUs. I don't have methane's
octane number but interpolation of critical compression values indicate
mid-90s.

It would do little other than provided vaporized fuel to help get
combustion going. Methane injection cannot be compared to NOS since that is
an oxygen supplier.
